How to View Windows NT Version (Build Number)

How to view the Windows NT version, also known as the build number, for your computer.

Open Command Prompt.
Type ver.
The build number will be displayed.
It is also at the top of the command prompt window, if you did not notice.
Using the command line interface (CLI) is faster than using the graphical user interface (GUI), as the basic information listed in the control panel does not even provide the build number.
