Windows 8: How to Create a Shortcut to a Web Page

How to create a shortcut to a web page in Windows 8 and several other versions of Windows.
  1. Right-click on the desktop.
  2. Navigate to New, then click Shortcut.
  3. Copy and paste the URL of the web page into the item location field.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Name the shortcut (optional).
  6. Click Finish.
  7. When you double-click the shortcut, the link opens in the default web browser.
